Entformung - a neologism coined by Dada artist Kurt Schwitters to describe the transformation of old materials into new art.

April 2020, in this time of sheltering at home, I re-designed an earlier unfinished work, in light of our COVID reality, based on a text I found in my studio about Schwitters & his collage concepts. Schwitters had turned inward as a retreat from the insanity of his world. I, too, looked inward & backward but also forward... to save myself from the present & our particular ‘poison’.
